Target Group:

Press officers, spokespersons and officials in EU institutions and delegations, national administrations, regional/regulatory authorities/agencies, state organisations and NGOs required to deliver key messages directly or indirectly, and managers whose area of responsibility includes a substantial communications brief.

Description:
Given the European Commission's publication of "Plan D for Democracy, Dialogue and Debate" and last year's White Paper on Communications, the need to increase the competence of public officials and others to deliver successful communications campaigns and compete effectively in today's information-laden society has never been more relevant. This workshop will provide a practical introduction to the main elements of communications, including media interviews, etc.

Method:
A variety of interactive training methods, with inputs from an experienced press officer and working journalist.

Objectives:
You will gain an excellent introduction to planning, implementing and monitoring modern communications campaigns and leave with advice, tools and techniques enabling you to deliver effective campaigns, with a focus on dealing with media representatives.
