European Public Procurement Seminar: Sustainable Procurement

Objectives:
Sustainability issues have come to the fore and found their legal basis in the European procurement directives. This seminar will examine the possibilities of integrating social and environmental considerations into the procurement process. As some Member States have embarked on sustainability strategies, best practices from different European countries will be explored and evaluated.

Method:
There will be a series of presentations by officials, academics and practitioners, followed by discussions. Participants will be encouraged to exchange views and experiences.

Target group:
The seminar is intended for public officials of the EU Member States, Candidate Countries and European Institutions. It should be mainly of interest to procurement practitioners, policy makers, academics, and the private sector.

The seminar will be conducted in English.
