A truly international study programme

  •  offered by EIPA Luxembourg, the European Centre for Judges and Lawyers, in partnership with the University of Nancy 2 and in cooperation with the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg,
  • delivered by academics and practitioners (lawyers, judges and other legal experts) from throughout Europe,
  • bilingual, delivered in French and English,
  • Enrolment in this second academic year and the final obtention of the Master diploma is opened to all students already having been awarded 60 ECTS in the framework of prior Master studies in fields related to EIPA’s Master of European Legal Studies (European Law, European Affairs, European Political Science, etc.)

The Master is one of the first of its kind, designed specifically to meet the needs of professionals (national civil servants, EU officials, lawyers, judges and other legal experts, as well as other professionals and graduates with an interest in EU law).

A challenging programme covering all fundamental dimensions of the vast corpus of EU Law.

The second academic year (M2) of the programme is structured on the following modules: 

  • Implementation of the European legal system ;
  • European legal issues related to the internal market ;
  • European area of freedom, security and justice ;
  • Europe as an international actor ;
  • Fundamental rights in Europe. EU citizenship ;
  • Methodology seminar / Master thesis. 

Tuition fee and applications
€ 3700 per academic year

Venue and timetable 

  • Luxembourg;
  • M2 : 02 October 2009 – 05 June 2010 ;
  • Courses on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings and one weekend per trimester ;
  • Exams in March 2010 (1st semester examinations (S3)) and in July 2010 (2nd semester examinations (S4)). In case of failure in S3 and S4 exams, a second round is held in September 2010 ;
  • Master thesis due in September 2010.
