PROJECT NUMBER: 1272001
Public-Private Partnerships - A key tool for Europe 2020
Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) are now firmly established in Europe as a way of delivering public services. But they still provoke many questions and are often misunderstood.
Is PPP a form of privatisation? Is PPP the silver bullet which will allow us to modernise European infrastructure quickly? Do they really deliver value for money for the public sector? How are PPP financed? Is PPP really anything more than a new way to “buy now, pay later”?
In this module, these questions will be answered as well as other questions about PPP, such as:
• What PPP are
• Why PPP are being used
• Why PPP matters to all of us
• What’s good about PPP
• What’s not so good about PPP
• When PPP works best
• What’s essential to using PPP effectively
