Target group
The seminar is intended for public officials from the EU Member States, candidate countries, European institutions and organisations. The seminar should also be of interest to industry and service providers in the defence and security sector, as well as to academics, lawyers and other persons working in this field.
Description
With the entry into force of the new directive on defence and security procurement (Directive 2009/81/EC), this seminar will explain and analyse the new provisions that were introduced and had to be implemented by the Member States. The seminar will provide some specific examples of the application of the new regime in some Member States. Furthermore, new initiatives by the European Defence Agency and other relevant issues in procuring for defence will be presented and discussed.
Method
There will be a series of presentations from public officials, academics and other experts, followed by discussions. Participants will be encouraged to interact and exchange views.
Objectives
The objective of this seminar is to provide an understanding of the new regime for defence and security procurement at the European level and to address some of the practical issues in its application. This seminar will provide a unique platform for the participants to share and exchange their experiences.

Fee
The participation fee is €895 and includes documentation distributed during the seminar, two lunches, one dinner/reception and refreshments. Accommodation and travel costs are at the expense of the participants or their administration.

Payment
Prior payment is a condition for participation. Please indicate the method of payment on the registration form. In any case, the participant or his/her administration will receive an invoice for the payment of the registration fee. For cancellations received after the closing date of registration we will have to charge an administration fee of €150 unless a replacement participant is found.
