Target Group
The seminar is intended for public officials from national, sub-national and local authorities and other public bodies who deal with change, organisational development and quality management.
Description
The seminar will focus on the tools and methods for managing change in public administration. Fundamental concepts of change management will be introduced in order to identify the key enablers of change processes. High-level practitioners and experts will share their experiences on the different aspects of change implementation, including strategy setting, building confidence and addressing resistance. Moreover, participants will gain insight on the skills and human resources dimension of transformation paths. Roundtables and plenary sessions will give participants the opportunity to compare situations, success factors and obstacles in the process of change. Learning from mistakes as well as dealing with emotional reactions in an evolving environment will form part of the discussions on the long-term impacts of change.
Learning Methodology
Presentations will be held on theoretical issues on how to manage change in public administration; the involvement of civil servants will increase participants’ knowledge in this field. Furthermore, examples from real life will be given. And last but not least, participants will have the opportunity to discuss and exchange experiences in workshops and plenary sessions.
