Target group
This seminar is intended for Structural and Investment Funds officials and practitioners, both from national and regional/local authorities and other organisations associated with the Funds, as well as project managers and developers.

The seminar will examine:
• the new regulations for the 2014-2020 programming period, with respect to financial management, control and audit;
• the closure procedures for the 2007-2013 programmes.

Speakers will include high-level officials from national managing authorities, as well as expert regional practitioners and consultants. The seminar will include workshops, exercises and case studies, thereby encouraging the participants to exchange practical examples and experiences in managing EU Structural Funds.

Learning methodology
As the seminar will be of a participatory nature, the participants will be strongly encouraged to actively take part in discussions throughout the entire programme. Moreover, they will have ample opportunity to informally exchange views on the seminar topics, both with the speakers and amongst themselves.

The objectives of this seminar are twofold:
1. to bring together practitioners from the European, national and regional/local level, to enable them to share experiences and identify cases of good practice in the financial management, financial control, audit and closure procedures of Structural Funds in different Member States;
2. to discuss ways of implementing financial management rules, including closure procedures, budget management, reporting, audit and financial control requirements, interim payments, eligibility of expenditure rules, calculation of grants, targetsetting, etc.
