What is this course about?
For five consecutive years, EIPA’s European Centre for Judges and Lawyers (ECJL) in Luxembourg has held an annual conference on the theme ‘European Union Civil Service Law’. These conferences have been a great success and prompted the enthusiasm of many participants, including judges from the European Union Civil Service Tribunal, legal representatives of the European institutions and agencies, university professors and lawyers specialised in this field. In light of this, EIPA wishes to repeat the experience by organising the Sixth Annual Conference. This will be an opportunity to explore some of the recent developments, in particular those related to the reform of the EU’s Court of Justice and the transfer of competence in the field of civil service law to the General Court.

How will it help you?
The aim of the conference is twofold: firstly, to inform you about recent developments in the case law of the General Court and to look in more detail at specific issues regarding civil service litigation in the EU, including those which are currently on the agenda; and secondly, to provide scope for a debate and a critical assessment of this case law among the key actors concerned, namely judges, lawyers and staff of the institutions.

Who will benefit most?
The conference is aimed at civil servants and officials of the EU institutions and agencies who are responsible for staff and/or legal services and deal with issues relating to public administration; members of trade unions and professional organisations of the EU; lawyers specialised in public administration litigation in the EU; national experts of public administration; and officials of international, non-EU organisations who are responsible for staff matters.

The detailed programme of this seminar will be available soon.
