Dr Alan Hardacre (UK) joined EIPA on 18 August 2008 as a Lecturer in the Unit: "European Decision-Making". In 1998 Alan gained a BA (Hons) in Modern European Studies from Loughborough University (UK) and in 2000 he received a DEA de Science Politique from the Institut d'Études Politiques de Lyon (FR). In 2008 he was awarded his PhD in international economic and political relations from Loughborough University. As part his PhD he spent 2002 researching economic integration in the Americas at the Universidade de Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Alan has worked as a junior English, politics and economics lecturer at the Université de Lyon II (FR), as a client investment analyst at Fidelity Investments Int. in London (UK), and as a junior economist at the International Grains Council, London (UK). From 2005 until July 2008 he was Senior Policy Adviser for the British Business Bureau at the Confederation of British Industry, Brussels (BE).
